The Butterfly Project

So, the second graders had to make a 3-D butterfly, label all the parts, and prepare a brief presentation describing the butterfly's origin and what it likes to eat. My daughter used pins for the legs and the antennae; clay for the head, abdomen, head, and thorax; cardstock for the wings, etc. You get the idea. The problem is that I don't know the Spanish words for the item. I helped her find the Spanish words in the dictionary. That took kind of a long time. The whole time I was thinking, "She'd be finshed by now if this project were in English." The butterfly turned out nicely and she practiced her presentation today. I smiled encouragingly as I listened. I think she used the correct words. I certainly do wish I knew exactly what she was saying.
